My Pet Cat(寵物貓)

　　I have a very beautiful cat. Its colour is white and yellow. Its name is Haahua. I think it is my favourite cat.

　　She likes playing with the bell. She loves catching mice. Though it is a kind of animals, I treat it as my friend. Sometimes I give her some fish or pork to eat. She looks like a fool when she meows. Wherever I am walking, she follows me.

　　How happy I am! How nice my friend is! I love her more and more.

　　我有一只非常漂亮的貓貓。它的顏色是黃白相間的。它叫Haahua。我覺得它是我最愛的一只貓貓。

　　她喜歡玩鈴鐺。她愛抓老鼠。盡管它是動物，我把它當(dāng)成我的朋友。有時候，我會給她吃一些魚肉或豬肉。當(dāng)她“喵喵”叫時，她看上去傻乎乎的。無論我在哪里散步，她總是跟著我。

　　多開心的我呀!多棒的朋友呀!我越來越愛她了。

　　我的寵物(My Pet)

　　Recently, three owls appeared suddenly on our campus. they made me think of my pet from childhood. When I was little, we had an owl at home. It was small, gray, and had two big eyes. We liked it very much. Every time I went home, it GREeted me by making “goo-goo” sounds. We always played with it and talked to it. It would blink its eyes just like it understood what we were saying. It was like my best friend. But when the weather became colder, we forgot to keep it warm, and it died. It made us sad for a long time, and it also taught me how important it is to take care of animals.

　　動物需要保護(hù) (Animals Need Protecting)

　　Why should people care? Because we need animals, and because once they are gone, there will never be any more.Animals are more than just beautiful or interesting. They are more than just a source of food. Every animal has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying one kind of animal can create many problems. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of hawks, the farmers' stores of corn and grain were destroyed by rats and mice. Why? Because hawks eat rats and mice, with no hawks to keep down their numbers, the rats and mice multiplied quickly.

　　Luckily, some people are working to help save the animals. Some groups raise money to let people know about the problem. And they try to get the governments to pass laws protecting animals in danger. Quite a few countries have passed laws. These laws forbid the killing of any animal or planton the danger list. Slowly, the number of some animals in danger is growing.

　　動物是自然資源，在整個歷史過程中，人類一直在糟蹋著這種資源。人們殺死動物，獲得它們的皮毛，把它們當(dāng)作食物或運(yùn)動方式，或者只是因為它們礙事。成千上萬種動物已經(jīng)從這個地球上永遠(yuǎn)地消失了�，F(xiàn)在另外上百種動物也上了瀕危動物名單。僅莢國大概就有170種被認(rèn)為處于危險當(dāng)中。

　　為什么人們應(yīng)該感到擔(dān)憂呢?因為我們需要動物，因為它們一旦消失，就永遠(yuǎn)不會再出現(xiàn)。動物不僅僅是漂亮或有趣。它們不僅僅是人類的食物來源。在維持自然平衡中，每種動物都有其作用。毀滅某種動物會導(dǎo)致許多問題。比如，農(nóng)民們?nèi)绻麣⑺罏閿?shù)眾多的鷹，他們谷物和糧食的倉庫就會受到老鼠和田鼠的破壞。 為什么?因為鷹吃鼠類，沒有鷹控制它們的數(shù)量，鼠類就會迅速繁殖。

　　幸運(yùn)的是，有些人正在努力幫助拯救這些動物。有些組織籌錢以便人們了解這一問題。他們也努力使政府通過保護(hù)瀕危動物的法律。很多國家已經(jīng)通過了法律。這些法律禁止殺害瀕危名單上的動植物。某些瀕危動物的數(shù)目正在慢慢地不斷上升。
